Mini-Wakan State Park, located just to the West of the beach offers a boat ramp and several areas to fish along the shoreline. Mini-Wakan also borders the area commonly referred to as “the grade”, which provides great shoreline fishing access. The master bedroom and bathroom are very large. One bedroom has a queen bed, and the other bedroom has twin bunk beds & a twin bed. All rooms have ceiling fans. The family room has a pull-out sleeper for 2. There are four steps leading into the cabin on both sides of the home. The cabin boasts a storage shed with 2 bicycles that may be used at any time on the trails, and several outdoor games (bean bag toss, ladder ball) as well. There is plenty of space for vehicle parking right outside the cabin with a large cement slab in the front, along with a long gravel driveway section for boats or recreational vehicles too!

It has 2 lakeside three season rooms and a finished lower level family. Our year round home will sleep 12 comfortably with central air and furnace. We offer wireless internet with 2 Smart TVs, one in the main floor living room and one in the lower-level family room. We offer a fully furnished kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave and coffee maker. We also have a washer and dryer for your use. Sheets and pillowcases are provided. There is a deck near the lake with a fire ring and a boat house set up for another gathering place near the dock. There are a few steps leading down to the dock. At the end of the dock there is an electric boat hoist with cover. You may reserve the Hoist for your stay for an extra $125 per stay. We have a large two-car garage for you to use and plenty of parking right outside the home. The Lakes Area walking and biking trail is right across the street. We do not allow large shedding pets inside the dwelling because of family allergies. Would consider one small house dog - contact owner. We welcome hunters and their dogs to stay with us. Our new house is a 1250 square foot home that is being built in the fall of 2018 on the same site as our 1920 cabin. Our year round home will sleep 6 people. We offer wireless internet, smart TV's in the living areas and bedrooms. The sound bar in the living room is bluetooth capable so you can listen to your favorite songs off your smart phone or tablet. We offer a fully furnished kitchen with a stove, fridge with ice maker, microwave, and dishwasher. A washer and dryer are available for your use just off the kitchen. Sheets and pillow cases are provided. Personal items are not. If you choose to stay with us, there are no large steps to overcome and that is great for anyone with mobility issues. To exit and enter the house you will only have couple steps to deal with. There is a concrete patio between the lake and the house with sun umbrellas, a gas grill and a fire ring. At the end of the dock there is an electric boat hoist with cover for boats 21 feet and smaller. You may reserve the hoist for your stay for an extra $125 per stay. Boat rentals are available through Great Lakes Marine Service. Pets are negotiable. We do not allow pets that shed inside the dwelling because of family allergies. We have had hunters and their dogs come and stay with us. The hunting dogs then stayed in their kennel at night in the garage. We maybe open to non shedding, hyper allergenic pets in the house. The cabin boasts 2 docks - one on the lake side, and one in the bay that is easily accessible from a public park. There is space for 2 vehicles to park right outside the cabin, and there is plenty of public parking available nearby (a 3 minute walk).

High 8’ high ceilings, canned lighting with bedside and table side lamps. LAKE AND WILDLIFE: Our property has an extra-long 92 feet of shorefront. Great for fishing in the stocked lake. This lake sits between West and East Lake. It is a separate and quiet lake. The waters are not rough like Big Spirit. It’s shores are half Department of Natural Resources (DNR) protected areas, and the other half private residences. Pelicans, geese, ducks, turtles, turkeys and beavers are often seen here. There is a public boat launch on the opposite side of the lake (about a 10-12 minute drive) if you would like to bring your boat and keep it tied to our dock. (No hoist available). There is electricity out on the dock. PARKING/ACCESSIBILITY/COMMUNITY: There is on street parking. The guest suite is accessible by steps and/or grassy pathway. The home is not wheelchair accessible. One block away is a beautiful, big park with swing sets, bathrooms and covered tables perfect for hosting a large gathering. Walmart is a 2 minute drive. Arnold’s Park in Okoboji is about an 8 minute drive. Antique shops, coffee and candy shops, bars, fast food, gas stations, restaurants, landscape and floral center, quaint shoppes, and a wonderful art museum are all within a 2 to 5 minute drive. Lots of nightlife during the summer season. Most summers there are free family friendly concerts on Saturday nights in Arnold’s Park at the marina. There are plenty of paved bike trails in the area as well. PLEASE NOTE: We are at the mercy of the weather and dock crews when our dock is put in/taken out. Most years the dock is in by June and out by October, but we do not guarantee that the dock will be in during your stay. Okoboji has a great fireworks display every Saturday night through the summer. If you’re on the dock you may be able to see it to the south. We do not permit fireworks to be shot off on our property due to the quieter neighborhood and lake setting. We ask our guests to be considerate of our next-door neighbors and try to bring the noise level down by 10 PM.

Neighborhood overview Located on the Francis Sites Area of East Lake Okoboji, our neighborhood is pleasant with many of our neighbors living there year round. We are close to the Barefoot Bar and the city of Spirit Lake with grocery stores and the downtown area less than 2 miles away. There is a public lake access with a modern boat ramp and parking (overnight allowed) for your boat about 2 miles away. Arnolds Park and the City of Okoboji are about a 3 mile drive. Getting around We are within easy driving distance of the area attractions or take advantage of the 2 local taxi services offering rides to or from any where in the Lakes area. Other things to note As parking is often in short supply during summer weekends, we ask you use only one parking space in front of the garage. A smart TV is provided and there is free wifi but no cable TV or programming in the guesthouse.

We just recently remodeled both the inside and outside. It is located in a very peaceful location just up from the water front. There is a dishwasher and a washer and dryer to use. With this rental you have lake/beach access and access to a pool, playground, sand volleyball and a basketball court. The area is extremely family friendly, with plenty of things to keep the kids entertained. It is also air conditioned.
